Vision
I did not know much about Martin Luther King since racism was never my concern living in a country where everybody was the same under socialist system. The more I go out, the more I learn, the more I feel disgusted with the inequality and injustice which people of colors as well as women are suffering, the more I adore this Nobel price laureate Martin Luther King who raised up for justice and equality. I admire his “I have a dream” speech which is so inspiring.
“I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."
I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.”
(Martin Luther King, 1963)
I have the same dream which King had more than 40 years ago… but my dream is a bit more inclusive. I do not only dream “ that all men are equal” but all men and women are equal, I do not only dream that “sons of former slaves and sons of former slave owners are able to sit together at the table of brotherhood” but all sons and daughters are able to sit together and together they make all the decisions which affect their lives. That is my vision for future.
Value
Knowledge
The more I learn the less I know. That is the reason why I always seek for new knowledge and ideas. I love to talk to people with knowledge and ideas sometimes to share the same views, sometimes to argue different perspectives but ultimately to learn from one another.
Belonging
I always need the sense of belonging, feeling connected and being accepted by others. My biggest fear is being rejected.
Health
Maintaining and enhancing physical well-being is for me important since we cannot purse our life goal without having sufficient health
Fairness
I believe that people are equal no matter what gender, race, and ethnicity they have. Their opportunities should be similar and their rights should be respected.
Freedom
I never want to live a dependent life. No matter what setting I am in, I always want to have my own privacy and capacity to do what I think it is good for me.
